To stand atop of the highest peak in the Western Alps is nothing short of amazing. Most ascents take 2 or 3 days whether it is by the classic Gouter route, Trois Monts, the Pope route or the more difficult options on the Italian side. As this may be the highest peak you will climb in the Alps, a specific acclimatisation is required, a good level of competency with crampons and the ability to wake up early in the morning! The views are spectacular, the achievement is long lasting and a ‘must do’ for anyone climbing in the Alps.
